Cyanotype Workshop

$75.00

🌞 Cyanotype Workshop

Fri & Sat · 11am–2pm · Aug 1–2
Location: OSC-Press · Instructors: Helen Grant & Rai Fordyce · $75

Join us at OSC-Press for a two day workshop that explores the art of Cyanotypes! On Friday, Helen Grant will walk students through the process of editing their photos, making them into transparencies and exposing them in the sunlight to create cyanotypes. Then Rai Fordyce will show students how to prepare the fabric for their next print in the dark room. Saturday's class will begin with a short walk around town to gather materials for their cyanotypes. Then Rai will instruct students on how to lay out the found objects and expose them on fabric, using a process called Solarfast.

Discover the magic of sunlight printing in this two-day cyanotype workshop. You'll learn how to coat paper and fabric with light-sensitive chemicals, then expose them to UV light using found objects, plants, drawings, or negatives.

Cyanotypes are a beautiful, accessible way to make striking blue-toned images. This workshop is perfect for artists of all levels looking to experiment with photography, print, and alternative processes.
