Melissa Jacobs

What's been going on in your world and circles lately?

It’s been quiet and fairly still in my world. My circles have narrowed because of covid which has kept me isolating and kept me home for the most part. I’ve had lots of time to think and daydream and to prioritize myself, the things i love doing, and my family.

Any particular projects you've been working on?

I’m currently working on some larger woodcuts. One specifically for the Annual Steamroller Festival at Artspace at Untitled in OKC. I always enjoy carving.

In what environment do you work best creatively?

I work best at home, alone. But I’ve been really starting to miss collaborative art events.

What initially got you interested in making art?

I first started drawing and making arty things to send as mail and little packages that I would send to friends and family.

Future things you are looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to spring, gardening, and all the colors coming back again.
